Sunshine and crows and a smile on my face

It’s funny how the crows probably fly all over the town, but somehow they are my crows and I make believe they hang out in just my neighbourhood waiting for me and Angel to go for a walk so they can sing to us along the way. I know, I know, most people hate the sound of crows. They are noisy birds, but so are some people! And these crows were born in my back yard! So somehow, they must be my crows.

Today is below freezing, but not too bad, in fact, quite nice for an afternoon stroll to clear the mind, wake up my body and soak up some sunlight.  I was thinking as I was walking first that this is a luxury of working from home. I then remembered how many times when I was working in an office that I would go for a walk. In the middle of the afternoon, I was tell my lovely secretary that I was heading for  a walk around the block.

Sometimes I went in my heels, other times I switched to running shoes. It was about clearing the mind that was most important. I also frequently walked at lunch.  I’d put on my yoga pants, zip up my jacket and plug in my earphones and head down the dike.  Watching the seasons change and the river flow was a wonderful stress reliever.

So, no excuses. Whether you work at home, on the road frequently or in an office, there is probably a way for you to get out and walk. Be prepared and have a pair of running shoes tucked away in your vehicle or under your desk and whenever the stress gets to you, take a break. Head out to listen to nature sing it’s song to you and bath you in sunlight!
